Powered by a Detroit Diesel 12V-71 two-stroke diesel, it is supercharged with two 671 blowers producing almost 500 hp and 1000 ft-lbs of torque. Power is transferred to an Allison 740 4-speed automatic and a Rockwell differential. Originally a semi-truck designed for hauling 80,000 pounds, it now weighs 7,800 lbs and gets 15 mpg.
